EMDR THERAPY
EMDR is a therapeutic modality that uses bilateral stimulation (rhythmic, alternating stimulation of both sides of the body or brain) to help our brain naturally reprocess any distressing memory, emotion, or belief. Similar to the biological process of REM sleep, the eye movements in EMDR allow our brains to integrate stressful material, in a less overwhelming way. This integration then allows us to show up in our lives in a more confident, peaceful, and harmonious way.
While EMDR is an esteemed modality to treat acute trauma, it is equally beneficial in addressing chronic symptoms of anxiety, depression, and low self-worth. Through EMDR, we can release the unconscious patterns shaping our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, allowing us to step out of painful cycles that impact our lives.
