EMDR &

TRAUMA THERAPY

Trauma is not always a single catastrophic event. Often, it is the lasting impact of experiences that overwhelmed our ability to cope, shaped the way we learned to protect ourselves, or changed the way we relate to ourselves and others over time.

Trauma can influence emotional responses, relationship patterns, self-beliefs, and the way we move through the world long after difficult experiences have passed.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help the brain process and integrate unresolved experiences that may continue to contribute to anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, negative self-beliefs, or recurring survival patterns.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR works with both the mind and body to help shift the emotional responses connected to past experiences. Many clients find that while they may intellectually understand their patterns, they still feel emotionally stuck inside them. EMDR helps create movement where insight alone has not fully created change.

EMDR is commonly used to support clients navigating:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Childhood wounds and attachment trauma

  • Relationship patterns

  • Panic responses

  • Negative self-beliefs

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Life transitions and difficult experiences

My approach to EMDR is collaborative, grounded, and paced with care. Therapy may include EMDR processing alongside insight-oriented, relational, and trauma-focused work to support deep, lasting change.
